It’s another quick post for today – I don’t know what it is about this week, but I’ve been dealing with different health problems every day! First it was the stomach pain on Tuesday, and now it’s a sore throat and nausea on Wednesday. Last I tested, I was negative for COVID, but jeez, I really can’t catch a break!
Whatever health problems I’m dealing with, I’ve got clothes to wear. Today’s theme was beige: I always feel like beige gets an unfair rap, like vanilla or Wonderbread. Sometimes there’s a lot of pleasure to be found in the basic things, and besides, they can serve as the foundation for more out-of-the-box flavors and choices. Just like vanilla is the starting point of many of my favorite ice cream flavors, a good pair of tan cargos or a sturdy brown jacket can be the beginning of a good outfit.
Still, I had my doubts. Sure, I’ve worn plenty of beige before, but could too much of it be a bad thing?
I was surprised by how well this outfit turned out! Even within a color as seemingly milquetoast as beige, there’s enough variation to make each piece of an outfit pop: I’m glad I decided to go with the lighter brown T-shirt so that the richer browns of the pants and corduroy shirt could shine. My only caveat is that this outfit is not the most winter-friendly, especially when the winds are as bad as they were today. I had to put on a beanie and jacket just to pick up my lunch order four blocks down!
Steal the look:
- Light brown beanie
- Banana Republic corduroy shirt, brown
- Banana Republic slim-fit chino pants, tan
- Light beige T-shirt
- Vans Leather Pop UA Old Skool White
Coming tomorrow: I get, uh, a very specific request from a friend!
