February Fashion Challenge, Day 21: Earning my stripes

Well, this marks the end of my third week! I have to say, as fun as it’s been, I’m just about ready to wrap this month up. I just found out that I’ll be moving in with my partner in March (exciting!) and need to do a lot of packing and prep work (less exciting!), so having some time back to think about life beyond the next outfit will be good. I haven’t even gotten to share some of these outfits with folks in real life: I meant to go to work in-person today, but sadly my IBS had other plans for me.

Thankfully, today’s challenge was fairly simple: wear as many striped things as you can. This gave me a fairly limited range of things to wear – although I’ve dabbled in many different styles, I actually don’t wear striped clothes very often, so it was surprising that I even had garments to choose from in the first place!

The best time to wear a striped sweater…is all the time…

I wish I had gotten to wear this outfit outside today – the sweater, in particular, looked so much nicer on me than I had expected! It’s definitely a more chill look, but one I could easily see myself wearing to a cafe or a bookstore. Maybe once my partner and I get settled into the new place, I’ll treat myself to a day off!

Other than that, not much to update y’all on. There are some interesting themes coming up in the last week of February, so I hope I’ll get to end this challenge with a bang!

Steal the look(s):

  • Black beanie (Another item with stripes – well, at least one stripe!)
  • J. Crew waffle-knit hoodie, striped (One of the nice things about this challenge is that I’ve discovered so many new favorites in my wardrobe. For instance, this hoodie spent three years in my closet before I finally got to wear it today! I’m happier with the clothes I have, and I’ll be more intentional about when and how I choose to buy clothes moving forward as a result!)
  • Old Navy athletic-fit jeans (Comfy.)
  • Vans Leather Pop UA Old Skool White (A question: if an item of clothing has one stripe on it, does it count as striped? Or semi-striped? I’m wrestling with this myself, but I’d like to know what y’all think.)

Coming tomorrow: We go back to beige-ics.
